Tsui Lam Centre's volunteer service aims to promote community concern for victims of family violence. The volunteers' active participation helps us deliver quality service which enables victims to feel cared for and supported. This is to foster an atmosphere of mutual help and social harmony.
Volunteers’ Involvement/Services:
Accompany victims while they are involved in the police investigation, to attend court hearings and handle other related legal proceedings
Help victims to locate and receive relevant community services, including housing, financial support, schooling, medical and child care etc
Provide guidance and training on home safety and basic skills in personal care, care to family members and household management
Organize mutual help groups
Provide translation service in different dialects
Organize different activities
Help in clerical work and service publicity
A volunteer should be:
Aged 18 or above, positive and non-judgmental in attitude, willing to patiently and wholeheartedly listen to the victims.
After completion of the training course, volunteers are required to pass the interview before assignment of voluntary services.
